Kali Temple Attacked in Rampurhat, Hindu Shops Vandalized, Hindu Women Molested Rampurhat, Birbhum, West Bengal, India Bagtui Paschimpara Muhharram Commitee organized a Muharram Tazia parade on Friday, December 17th 2010 evening. The parade was conducted without permit from the local police department. When the police learned about this illegitimate parade, instead of stopping it, they reqauested the organizers to follow certain routes so that local people do not face any hassle or delay in their daily commute. The Muslim organizers paid no attention to the police instructions and chose to march in routes they wanted. When SDPO intervened and tried to direct the marchers in routes the police approved, the mob turned violent and threatened to kill him. It is proved yet again that the Muslim society in the Indian state of West Bengal doesn’t have any reverence for the law of the land. It has also been proved whether the government of West Bengal can implement the ruling of High Court on the same Muslim community. We are not in need of evidence any more. At the time of Kalipuja (Hindu festival also known as Deepavali - October 17, 2009), there was a cultural function by a Club Puja Committee in the Taki town in Basirhat subdivision of North 24 Parganas dist of West Bengal, India. Several Muslim youths from nearby Sankhchura village came to the function and misbehaved. Hindu sentiments were hurt by the outsiders' actions and words, a small scuffle occurred and the intruding miscreants were driven away from the venue. In retaliation for this defensive action, on October 25th 2009, about 30-35 Muslim youths from Sankhchura village came to Taki town and beat up 2-3 Hindu boys and fled. On 26th October, twenty-six clubs of Taki town joined hands. 3 to 4 thousand Hindu people gheraoed (encircled) Taki Police Station and organized a very strong demonstration.
