We believe that the Government is liable to treat everybody’s religious sentiments with due respect. In accordance with this, Hindu Samhati sent a letter to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal requesting her to ban slaughter and trade of beef throughout the State. It, further, requested to begin the process during the four days of Durga Puja, i.e. from 19th October to 22 nd October, 2015, the greatest festival of Bengali Hindus. We requested the government to strictly conform to the West Bengal Animal Slaughter Control Act 1950 which was ruled by Supreme Court also. In reply to this, however CM has clearly expressed her stand by postponing the immersion of Durga Idols by 2 days because of celebration of Muharram by Muslims. Debtanu Bhattacharya, Secretary of Hindu Samhati, sent a letter to the Chief Minister of West Bengal, on 15th September 2015 requesting her to "ban slaughtering and transportation of cows and selling / mobilization of beef throughout the State of West Bengal immediately". He, further, requested the CM to "ban slaughtering and transportation of cows and selling / mobilization of beef throughout the State for 04 (four) days i.e. from 19th October 2015 to 22nd October 2015 during the auspicious occasion of the Durga Puja so that religious sentiments of Hindus does not get hurt". On March 18 2015, newly appointed Prant Karyavah (State Secretary) of South Bengal Sri Jishnu Basu addressed a press conference at RSS office at Kolkata. Not many paper/media covered it. But "Ei Samay", the Bengali newspaper of TOI group, published a 2 column report today. According to this report, RSS going to start a Post-Card campaign targeting Muslim youths, to change it's image among them. By printed message on these postcards, RSS will make a serious effort to convince the Musl im youths that RSS is not anti Muslim and not against any other religions. I FAIL TO UNDERSTAND WHAT RSS ACTUALLY WANTS TO ACHIEVE BY THIS!  My question to W Bengal RSS : (1) Is it not an appeasement policy?
